Collection: Beading Looms
Learning to create loom jewelry opens a world of possibilities for jewelry designs. You can easily create loom bracelets loom necklaces, earrings, belts, headbands and more. One of the greatest appeals of beading on a loom is how you can easily create so many different designs.
As the style and forms of using a bead loom evolved, so did the tools, materials, and equipment. You can easily spice up loomed designs by using two-hole beads, leather cording, fibers, fun patterns, and unique finishing options.
We carry several brands of looms as each of them have great features, from jewelloom.com, Ricks and can also order Mirrix looms in the size you need!
Which thread(s) to use?
The warp should be a non-stretchy thread. Because the warps are taut, stretchy thread will cause the weave to buckle, when removed from the loom. Select a thread color that blends in well with the beads woven to create the pattern.
Always, always use a white weft thread, (unless you are weaving strictly dark opaque beads). This helps the bead color to pop. Nymo is a stretchy thread and can be used well, for the weft because the weft is not held taut. The weft only holds the beads into place, between each warp. The weight of your weft, will determine the body of your weave, when completed.
For the edges, a thicker weight thread can be used. The edge gets the most use, on a cuff, for instance. Another good suggestion is to double up the outer warp, or warp with a thicker thread.
